The Butter Pecan Bread Pudding & Cream Cheese Glaze, It’s Sinfully Addictive

It’s rich, it’s decadent, sweet and “Oh So Delicious”, and apparently ‘indescribable’ when you consider the ingredients in this bread pudding that shoots the calories through the roof. It’s a combination of a cinnamon roll, pecan praline and bread pudding all in one.

Only 5 minutes to prepare this recipe that uses high quality pecan, milk chocolate chips, heavy cream, pure vanilla and real butter. Thanks to Creole Contessa for creating this delicious wonder from leftover cinnamon rolls to make bread pudding as a kid.

Cook Time: 45 minutes
Serving: 6-8


  • 12 glazed donuts, 1-day old
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 2 Cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 2 Cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 Tbs vanilla
  • 1 Tbs butter, room temperature

Pecan Topping:

  • 2 Cups pecan halves, diced
  • 1 Cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter, unsalted, room temperature

Cream Cheese Glaze:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 Cups powdered sugar
  • 1 stick butter, unsalted, room temperature
  • 2 Tbs heavy cream
  • 1 Tsp vanilla


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Butter a 13×9 inch dish with 1 tablespoon of softened butter.
  3. Cut doughnuts into 4 pieces each and place in butter dish.
  4. Mix eggs, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla in a separate bowl, beat well.
  5. Pour batter mixture over doughnuts and press down to soak doughnuts.
  6. Top mixture with chocolate chips.
  7. Mix brown sugar, pecans and butter together until crumbly.
  8. Place nut mixture over chocolate chips.
  9. Bake bread pudding at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

To Prepare Cream Cheese Glaze:

  1. Place all ingredients into a mixer and mix well.
  2. Heat mixture in microwave for about 15 seconds to thin.
  3. Remove bread pudding from oven, drizzle with half the cream cheese glaze.
  4. Allow bread pudding to cool 30 minutes, drizzle with remaining glaze.
